I remember when President Gordon B. Hinckley (1910-2008), then prophet and leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, announced that 30 smaller temples would be built across the globe to help the sacred ordinances of the Lord be closer to the people. Since then, temples have been announced pretty regularly and are continuing to dot the globe. I’m excited for the temple being built outside of Paris, France, and would love to be there for its dedication.
While driving to Lake Powell for a photo workshop, I planned my travel time to arrive in Monticello, Utah, around sunset in an effort to photograph the smaller temple that, as intended, has brought the ordinances closer to the people living in southeastern Utah and the surrounding area. After going through my photos, I wished I would have done this post workshop, as I learned a lot of things that would have made my photos that much better… but I guess I’ll just have to go back another time to take more photos.
