Christmas is a wonderful time of year. While I’m not a big fan of the hours spent hanging Christmas lights on the gutters and roof, I love decorating the Christmas tree. So once we got our tree assembled, the hodge podge of ornaments placed, and the Christmas tree skirt in place, I couldn’t help setting up my tripod and taking some photos of the finished product.
Before snapping the photo, I wanted to be able to get as close to the tree as possible, without cropping out any part of the tree. Therefore, I put on my 10-22mm lens and set it about six feet from the tree. After snapping off a few photos, I decided to go with a long exposure shot to help add the starburst effect to the lights on the tree. It worked.
So if you are going to show off your tree this holiday season, try using a long exposure to add that extra look to the Christmas tree. If you have a photo of your tree, share a link to it in the comments below.
