Go Red for Women and Heart Disease

Working in healthcare public relations, I have the opportunity to interact with patients, volunteers and physicians. I get to tell the stories of people who were able to get their life back following a new medical breakthrough or a personal decision to make lifestyle changes. This month, I am excited to have worked with a great team in our hospital to organize a social media campaign – #GoRedLiveWell.

But what made this project even more fun for me was the opportunity to use my photography – and my new light box – to photograph a Red Dress pin that would become the icon associated with this campaign.

I hope that anyone reading this post will take a moment to learn more about the #GoRedLiveWell campaign and help be part of bringing awareness to a disease that takes the life of 1 in 3 women in the United States – a disease that can be prevented through simple lifestyle changes. Be part of making a difference this February and add your red photo to the #GoRedLiveWell campaign on Instagram.

Happy National Wear Red Day.
